Y-159 Shirakaba no Mori I love Hokkaido, where I was born and raised. Birch trees have always been a familiar part of my life, and I still love them. When I was little, I often went to the mountain land in Niseko that my father had inherited. The sight of me riding my father's snowmobile through the trees and along the mountain ridges remains very vivid in my young mind. There was a small hut on my father's land with a wood-burning stove. I remember being taught by my grandparents to collect birch bark and use it as kindling for the stove. I was born and raised in Sapporo, but I loved the mountains. That hasn't changed, and I still want to live in a place closer to the mountains than to the sea. Even now, on a hill where you can see Mt. Yotei beautifully, there is the land my father tended and birch trees. At this age, I often remember the old days, and I want to protect the beautiful scenery of the white-barked birch trees that stand in rows for generations to come. Inspired by the mysterious and dignified expression of the birch tree, I created a quiet motif in a balanced way, and it has become my favorite masking tape.
